Nello specifico, si dovrebbe intervenire a breve tra Porto Empedocle e Agrigento, in particolare in contrada Caos, dove recentemente si sono verificati crolli di porzioni di falesia.
Sarà pubblicato domani sulla Gazzetta ufficiale della Regione Siciliana l'avviso di gara per individuare l'impresa che dovrà portare a termine l' intervento di protezione del versante, a salvaguardia dell'infrastruttura viaria e dell'agglomerato urbano sovrastante, progetto redatto dal dipartimento regionale della Protezione Civile guidato da Salvo Cocina.
L'importo complessivo dell'appalto è di 2,7 milioni di euro, finanziato dalla Protezione civile; i lavori dureranno 365 giorni. Le istanze potranno essere presentate entro le ore 12 dell'11 marzo prossimo sulla piattaforma telematica dei lavori pubblici in Sicilia.
Il progetto prevede la realizzazione di una secca temporanea di protezione insieme a un ripascimento alla base della falesia, in corrispondenza del canalone a valle dell'imbocco della galleria, in modo da stabilizzare la porzione di versante; saranno poste barriere a mare, finalizzate ad arginare le onde; verrà realizzato il ripascimento di porzione del litorale, con avanzamento della linea di riva, che tiene conto della naturale evoluzione morfologica. Al fine di rendere possibile l'azione combinata dei due interventi a monte e a valle della falesia, attraverso un coordinamento con Anas, l'Ufficio contro il Dissesto idrogeologico la prossima settimana procederà alla convocazione di una riunione tecnica per il coordinamento dei due interventi pianificati nell'area.
«Giunge a termine il lungo e complesso iter amministrativo – dichiara il presidente della Regione, Nello Musumeci - che ci consente di dare una risposta concreta ed efficace a un grave problema di stabilità idrogeologica che mette a repentaglio un importante tratto di costa della provincia agrigentina, con conseguenze sulla strada statale 640. Parallelamente dovrebbe agire l'Anas per l'intervento di sua competenza finalizzato alla regimentazione delle acque e alla protezione dell'infrastruttura stradale».
Il bando rivolto alla contrada Caos di Agrigento arriva pochi giorni dopo il via libera definitivo al un altro discusso progetto contro il dissesto idrogeologico in provincia, quello per il ripascimento del litorale di Eraclea Minoa. Era stato l’assessore al Territorio e all’Ambiente, Toto Cordaro, in quel caso a firmare il decreto che prende atto dell’ottemperanza alle prescrizioni impartite dalla Commissione tecnica specialistica per le valutazioni ambientali e rendere finalmente possibile l’avvio dei lavori. L’obiettivo, anche in questo, è quello di frenare il fenomeno che ha permesso al mare di aggredire alcuni tratti della spiaggia, della retrostante pineta e delle attrezzature turistiche. Da un punto di vista tecnico, l’intervento a Eraclea Minoa prevede la realizzazione di tre pennelli costituiti da massi ciclopici e il ripascimento della spiaggia.
