Aumenta sempre più il numero di adesioni alla rete delle “Scuole Plastic Free per un futuro sostenibile”, progetto lanciato da Marevivo.
Una nuova adesione giunge, a Menfi, da parte dell’Istituto Comprensivo Statale “Santi Bivona”.
Domani, si svolgerà una giornata di sensibilizzazione ambientale curata dai volontari della delegazione regionale siciliana di Marevivo sui temi dell’importanza dell’ ecosistema marino del Mediterraneo e sulla riduzione del consumo di plastica monouso.
Nella stessa giornata, per invogliare a non acquistare l’acqua in bottiglie di plastica, saranno consegnate agli studenti dell’istituto le borracce in alluminio, donate dal deputato saccense Matteo Mangiacavallo.
Si stima infatti, che una classe in media di 20 studenti, annualmente consumi circa 4000 bottigliette di plastica, dato allarmante se riferito all’intero numero di classi di ogni singolo istituto.
La giornata assumerà maggiore importanza grazie alla presenza oltre che de Presidente di Marevivo Sicilia Fabio Galluzzo e della Dirigente Scolastica Dott.ssa Maria Angela Croce, anche del Sindaco di Menfi Marilena Mauceri e del Comandante dell’Ufficio Circondariale Marittimo di Sciacca Giuseppe Giannone, che oltre ai saluti istituzionali relazioneranno sugli interventi messi in campo da ciascuna delle due istituzioni per una più corretta gestione dei rifiuti urbani e per il controllo e il monitoraggio della stato del mare.
“Siamo orgogliosi di poter offrire tutta la nostra collaborazione e ancor di più del cammino intrapreso da molti comuni e da molte scuole della Sicilia, nell’educare la comunità ad un maggiore rispetto dell’ambiente - dichiara Fabio Galluzzo, presidente di Marevivo Sicilia – impegno che denota una grande responsabilità del ruolo che ciascuna istituzione detiene per la crescita dei giovani e per una gestione più diligente del territorio”.
